St Bega's Church
Just a 15 minute walk from Ravenstone Lodge and on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake is the delightful 10th century church of St Bega.
Skiddaw
Skiddaw is the third highest peak in the Lake District at 931m (3,054ft)and is situated just behind Ravenstone Lodge making the Lodge a great starting point for an amazing walk.

Even if visibility is poor at the bottom, it can still be spectacular at the top!
Aira Force
Situated on the North side of Ullswater and only a 20-minute drive from Ravenstone Lodge is Aira Force. This is one of those a "must visit" places in the Lake District. Whatever the weather you can enjoy an easy walk alongside a series of waterfalls sheltered by ancient woodland.

A photograph of a small waterfall near Haweswater, which was taken in February 2009 during a very cold spell. Haweswater is about a 40 minutes drive from Ravenstone Lodge.
Langdales
The Langdales in September on a wet & misty day and although visibility was poor there is still something magical about Lake District views even on days like this! The Langdales are an easy 40 minute drive from Ravenstone Lodge.

High Street from Patterdale
A view of High Street, the ridge stretching from Ambleside to just south of Penrith which was the site of one of the highest Roman Roads to be built in England. The photo was taken on a rather stormy August day from Patterdale on the west side of Ullswater about a 30 minutes drive from Ravenstone Lodge.
